Welcome to the new AnxietyMamma.com!
If you tried to visit in the last few days and got the maintenance page – you have my sincerest apologies. I was attempting to make the transition to the new design as quick and painless as possible, until the cold virus that had been floating around my house finally invaded my body, and I had to spend all my free-time on sneezing and sniffling and cursing the sandpaperyness of every tissue on the market instead of updating the website (yes, sandpaperyness is absolutely a word). Ah life, you cheeky bastard.
Can you believe it’s been a year already? In some ways, it feels like I’ve been blogging for much longer than twelve months. And confession time: that’s probably because I’ve been blogging since I was about fourteen years old. However, AnxietyMamma.com was the first blog that I felt comfortable enough to make public, which is ironic because I’ve probably been more open about my private thoughts on this forum than I’ve been anywhere else on the internet (or in real life, for that matter). At the risk of sounding like a serious cheeseball, I feel like the last year hasn’t just been about nurturing my baby, but also about nurturing this blog. I’ve poured a lot of my heart, soul and best jokes into this place, and in it I’ve found an amazing support network, lots of joy, heaps of progression, and a voice that I didn’t know I had.
I haven’t always been as consistent as I wanted to be (oh, the learning curve of the new mum!) and my content has often been somewhat varied and unusual as I’ve tried to find my groove, but I’ve enjoyed every single minute of this online journey.
My hopes for the future are that I can continue to write about my progress with agoraphobia and panic disorder, and that I do what I always set out to do – create content that others can relate to in some way or other. I’ll be trying to be a bit more active through some other outlets as well, such as my YouTube channel and my Instagram (I’m usually fairly active on instagram anyway!) but AnxietyMamma.com will always be the original gangsta in my cyberspace clan.
I LOVE hearing from people, so if you’re reading, say hello! I’m always open to suggestions if there is any particular content you would like to see more of, so feel free to let me know where you’d like to see AM.com heading in the future.
P.S – I couldn’t let the first birthday go by without a little revamp! My fancy new blog design was made by Tinselpop.com, and they currently have a sale on via Etsy if anyone is looking for a beautiful new theme.
