Jesus Christ, Marie – another month has flown by while I’ve been busy at home digging cheerio crumbs from the carpet and binge-watching Stranger Things (Um…amazing??!!!!). Anyway it’s time again for the monthly blog roundup, and once more I’m super excited and inspired by the following bloggers and I just want to share the bloody love – because that’s what life is all about, right?
Firstly, a woman who needs no real introduction: Paloma Lowe of Anxioustraveler.com
Paloma’s blog was one of the first big anxiety blogs I came across. As the title suggests, the incredible thing about this woman and fellow-anxiety sufferer is that she travels with anxiety. For someone like me who is a somewhat housebound agoraphobic, reading Paloma’s blog is awe-inspiring. To think that there’s a girl out there who travels the world, sometimes alone, along with an anxiety disorder and manages to come out the other side alive and well to tell the tale….it blows me away, and makes me feel like there’s a whole lot of hope. Paloma even does travel reviews aimed specifically at those with anxiety issues, which is something you generally don’t come across on your standard tripadvisor review! And to top it all off, she’s a hell of a woman with a beautiful heart and a lovely way with words. For an incredibly interesting read, check out her post on Breaking out of vipassana.
Next is Ben from benjimangrant.wordpress.com
Ben is an incredibly warm, funny, and avid writer from the UK who suffers with CRPS and anxiety/depression. Ben writes beautiful posts (almost daily – I think he officially wins the award for blogger-who-updates-most-frequently) and it always gives me a little thrill trying to figure out which song or movie his post titles are from. You know those people you come across in life who are such empathetic souls who seem to feel so deeply but give you their all, even when they only have a tiny bit left to give? That’s the vibe I get from Ben. His instagram is full of the most wonderful selfies that seem to convey just as much light and love as his posts do, and I come away from all of his posts feeling like I’ve just had a cup of tea, a deep & meaningful chat, and a big bear hug from a friend. I’m almost ashamed to say I had zero knowledge of CRPS before coming across Ben’s blog, but I’m learning a lot and believe me when I tell you that this is one inspiring dude.
Lastly, the lovely Amy from amybeingmum.wordpress.com
Ooh, Amy. I have a confession to make; I’m a little bit obsessed with watching her videos from her YouTube channel. It’s the Scottish accent. I can’t help it, it makes me swoon. Amy is a mother of two precious little ladies who somehow finds the time to blog and insta and youtube (teach me your tricks, Amy!). She’s sweet, refreshing, funny, and her posts are incredibly relatable, especially if you happen to be a mum and know all too well the trials and tribulations of things like trying to eat a meal out at a restaurant with your little one. (Which as I now know, is about as impossible as trying to put a gumboot on a chook). One of the little delights on Amy’s posts is that she usually includes little pictures here and there, which I love. Visuals are just as important as text sometimes, and also I’m a massive creep and really enjoy snooping in on people’s lives. (I probably shouldn’t admit that so readily, huh..)
That’s all for the August Blog Roundup, as always – if you have any blog recommendations for me – yours or otherwise – go on, shameless self promotion is absolutely allowed and encouraged! – Comment and let me know!
